When we hoist the front end, we can work smoothly without damaging any of the parts.
It’s turning out to be quite a niche finish.
Since we’re diamond-coating the front parts, I’m installing my personal bike to get the stance right. The stem shaft diameter doesn’t match, so I’m making a temporary dummy POM adapter.
Now we’re fitting the GSF1200 wheels and rolling it, so I’m making a stepped collar. The fork’s axle diameter is 17mm, so it’s a 17–20 converter.
The swingarm will also get diamond-coat treatment. This damage probably came from when the stock muffler was installed.
Even if we repaint it, it’ll stay dented like this, so we need to repair it.
I built it up a bit too much… I’ll keep leveling it and if pinholes appear, I’ll melt them slightly and repeat.
There’s no end to it, so let’s call it good here.
I think a bottom case designed with this kind of angular, angular look would be cool.
But it won’t appeal to the general public. I’ll ship the paint work on Wednesday.
It’s on hold for now.
