Heavy and stiff—definitely not in a condition for smooth riding. Based on the grease condition, it appears considerable time has passed.
The customer requested conversion to angular ball bearings on both top and bottom. We’ve made the change with NC100 grease.
It’s reassuring to check the seal condition.
I really like this seal design. The Kawasaki press-on type is quite troublesome to work with.
No significant wear visible.
The distance collar was rattling badly—yet the bearing still runs, which speaks to its excellent quality. We’ve adjusted it and the issue is now resolved.
The fork oil is quite dirty. It had a WP spring installed.
When servicing the front end, always suspend it to avoid putting stress on the harness and other components.
After a test ride, we’ll be done.
