Installing the front fender.
I can’t recommend having the fender contact the fork. The fork has enough force to quickly wear down aluminum and other materials, so always make sure to maintain proper clearance.
This front fender has quite a bit of warping and some chipping. That’s just something you have to accept to a certain degree.
I had to do quite a bit of grinding. I wonder if the tight tolerances are intentional—maybe they’re leaving extra material so you can grind it down as needed?
It looks like a simple bolt-on, but it’s more like install, grind, install, grind—about ten cycles—so it takes a good hour or so.
I have to say, I’m oddly impressed that fenders with this kind of shape are being sold when they basically just need grinding.
We’ve gotten this far for now.
