Honda really is strong. Eight hours is a long race, so you need everything to come together: a good machine, good riders, good teamwork, and good luck.
Here’s the eight-hour endurance race winning machine, the CBR1000RR. Modern eight-hour race bikes still retain a production-based feel, unlike the rough, heavily machined look of older race bikes.
I think that’s why the finish is cleaner and more beautiful.
People often talk to me about racing, including MotoGP, but I only know about it up to 1983 and the 1000cc class.
Basically I like the machines, but I’m not really interested in the results.
So 16.5 is still the mainstream size. I have a Marchesini Magtan with 16.5 front and rear, so I’d like to try putting them on my GSF just for fun.
It would be nice if they had a bit more stamped metal that goes pop! I suppose budget constraints play a role.
Is that chain drive with an automatic? That’s a strange bike. Very futuristic.
