
GSF1200 in a rare red and black finish came in for a Flat-Rate Motorcycle Inspection and self-point maintenance.

The side stand should be disassembled occasionally for cleaning and lubrication. Lubrication from the outside alone won’t keep it in good condition.

Control levers and similar components are extremely important. The ideal state is minimal play with smooth input and smooth return.
We keep boots in stock at all times, so we replaced them.

We cleaned the throttle and applied a light coat of engine oil. Avoid grease, as it can make the throttle feel a bit heavy.

It looks a bit dirty, but it’s been cleaned regularly and operates smoothly, so we’re confident.

The fluid is a bit dirty. Brake fluid should be replaced at least once a year, as it can turn gel-like and clog the system.


It was slightly out of adjustment. This should stabilize it now.

The idle wasn’t staying centered—it turns out this one has a remote adjuster setup. The spring had collapsed.

We checked how much initial tension was needed without the spring and trimmed it accordingly.

Light output was within inspection limits.
