This is a GSXR1100. It’s got quite a sharp specification to it.
Overall it looks pretty whitish. It’s in a very dirty condition.
Lifting the front up… on the left side handle stopper there’s something that looks like putty or Devcon…
I have a really bad feeling about this.
Sure enough, there’s a crack in it. I’ll patch it up for now.
Let me create a small bevel first, then weld it. Since it’s a casting, I’ll go with 4043 aluminum rod.
I’ll preheat the area around it lightly. I think it’s better to minimize the difference between the area near the melting point and room temperature.
I’ve built it up in a crown shape. I’ve made it strong enough to handle another hit if it comes.
Hmm… this is going to be quite a challenge. I’m stumped. It was sold in pretty rough shape.
