The structure is mysterious, so I spent a long time thinking about it. It came off with brute force when I removed it, but no matter what I try physically, it won’t go back in…
What is this punch…? It won’t budge no matter how hard I turn or pull it. In the end, I put the washer back on and used the punch as a retainer.
Pretty impressive.
I inserted the seal and spot-welded it in two places—now it’s secure. All that’s left is to reassemble, add oil, and bleed the air.
The hydraulic pressure is back and it’s working again. It cost about 2,000 yen in oil, seal, and O-ring, but it took a lot of time, so it’s a bit of a mixed result.
If it hadn’t worked, it would have been a disaster… but the result is good.
