Please don’t apply tape to parts that will be removed. Being able to pop them off cleanly during maintenance eliminates a lot of hassle.
This is the better approach to avoid scratching the fairing. We don’t want to apply heat, and we can’t use solvents or scrapers either.

The way this screen is secured is honestly a bit questionable. It’s just a flanged rubber piece sandwiched in place. I think floating it would be better.
Depending on tolerances, it can be about 0.1 mm tight, so I’ll lightly file it smooth and insert it with a pop.
You know, the Suzuki genuine inner diameter M5 flanged plastic collar—that’s the one.
Dad’s cataracts seem to be progressing quite a bit. Since we’re removing the fairing anyway, I’ll clean them up too.
Add detergent, shake it up, and rinse it out.
I think something like a lint-free magic cloth would work best.
After thinking it over, I’ve finished ordering. It’s on hold for now.
