This combination is really effective. That said, I learned it from someone else, so I can’t claim any credit. I haven’t actually measured the clutch spring pressure, but it has a proven track record—excellent.
The money you spend translates directly into better feel and control.
The release looked clean on the outside. Inside, though, it was dirty and emulsified. This is exactly why you want to change the fluid completely at least once a year.
This is a product that won’t fit without shaving the cover—the banjo fitting would interfere.
I use a Belsan to give it a light shave. I didn’t trust myself, so I masked everything off—best call I made.
Oil-cooled bikes have wiring that looks like this. It’s really frustrating. The generator is a pain to remove too.
Basically, I route everything this way on all our bikes. The wiring doesn’t lie flat against the engine, so there’s no problem. And I skip unnecessary cable ties to keep it simple.
When it’s installed, it looks like this. Mesh hose absolutely needs protection. Bare mesh is like hanging stainless steel wool underneath—and the mesh openings collect dirt and look really shabby. It’s like how cast surfaces get clogged with grime.
Shrink tubing wears away and that bothers me, so anywhere there’s friction risk gets an extra layer of mesh sleeve for peace of mind.
I bend it with a bender, but I rough out the initial position with a welding rod to create a flexible layout.
Since the mirror isn’t needed, I fixed it with an M6 type. Both looks and operation improved.
