We received a request to install an OP sensor and LED unit on a GSX-R1100J H2 master tank and more.
We’re connecting an oil pressure sensor to the Active meter. The mounting location is limited. If we install it anywhere other than the existing position, it requires modification—which means extra labor and increased cost. So let’s relocate the Yoshimura sensor and install the new one in the opening it leaves behind.
It’s quite long, so the mounting position is really limited.
Previously, we tried liquid gasket because replacing it seemed wasteful, but that didn’t work either.
We peeled it off in two seconds…
After degreasing, we applied epoxy putty in five minutes, piled on thick. If this doesn’t work, we’ll replace it—probably around 3,000 yen.
It looked like it might fit directly on the H2 tank, but the hose routing and mount position relationship made that impossible as-is. Just using a spacer and a long bolt seemed okay at first… but no, that won’t work. It’s heavy and adds extra parts.
We cut, extended, and polished it. The result is light and clean-looking.
That’s how we installed it on the clutch side.
We wanted the cap to sit as level as possible.
Initially, the customer wanted the larger one. After thinking it over for a few days, they decided the smaller one was better, so we changed it.
The existing bracket wasn’t going to cut it, so we made a new one from scratch.
The installation uses face-flush R finishing for a smooth fit. The bolts are nickel-plated.
We set it up this way: as level as possible and aligned left and right.
The customer wanted the PIAA LED unit fixed in place. The shape ended up pretty plain with no flair.
We’re using Dual Lock, cable ties for backup, and a lip for extra security.
Sorry—we went ahead and cut the relay on the right because we wanted to relocate it.
The understated look is great. We angled it slightly forward for no particular reason—it just looked cooler that way. (It can be straight too.)
The oil pressure reads perfectly. Oh, and we’re also relocating the Yoshimura sensor, so we forgot to order it… we’re a bit scattered. It should be ready by Wednesday, probably.
