If I update halfway through, I have to read back to see how far I’ve gotten.
It’s no good if I skip even once.
This isn’t a recent part. I’ll re-oil the wires and clean the gears too.
The axle is in good condition.
I’ll give it a good cleaning now and then.
Both sides show heavy corrosion. Fortunately the piston is still in decent shape, so that’s good.
Cleaning the holes in the disc. I’ve been doing this so much lately that I’m getting tired of it. It’s tedious work.
I’ll clean the dust cover interior, check the inner tube condition, and oil it.
Let’s clean and oil both levers too.
Let’s oil the side stand as well.
It would be sad to assemble it as is, so I’ll polish and paint it.
It’s come back to life a bit now.
The spring is a reused low-rate one. It moves smoothly.
The release seal has come out, so I’ll replace it.
It’s in very sharp condition.
There’s some corrosion inside, but after polishing it’s at an acceptable level.
Now it’s smooth and clean.
You can see how much the umbrella has compressed.
