Golden Week is here, and work has settled down a bit, so I’m going to get this running—this year for sure!
I’m going to skip over a lot of the details. Using the Motogadget M-UNIT took quite a bit of time.
The wiring itself isn’t too bad. But once it’s done, you notice all sorts of things you’d like to fix—like wanting to redo the whole harness—and that’s why this project kept stalling.
In the end, I left it as is without redoing it. Since this is just for my own satisfaction, I’m moving forward with the assumption that it works.
Well, it’s done without any issues. The indicators are Motogadget Moto Sign Mini .
I also added an ETC lamp.
This time there’s no key-type main switch. I’m using an m-lock contactless digital lock , so it looks really clean.
On the right is a stock switch integrated with the mirror holder.
On the left I used one from a modern bike. The STACK settings and switching require four switches, and laying those out would look really ugly, so I made it so I can adjust them while riding with my left hand.
The meter case is a bit tight. I expanded it with a punch so the wiring wouldn’t be under stress.
I also had to be careful so the wires wouldn’t rub and break.
I’m replacing the rear turn signals from recessed to big, grown-up style ones.
I tried to keep it as light as possible, but even with reinforcing ribs the design looked ugly, so I painted it black to hide it.
It looks pretty nice now. Looking back, I wonder why I went with recessed ones in the first place—the holes I cut in the tail cowl are a real shame.
Rear master plate. I made this a while back, but couldn’t I have made it a bit simpler? I’m not happy with it.
Since it’s a hassle, I polished it and reused it.
For things like the shift pedal, I reused the stock part. I cut the arm, welded it, and made it to my liking. It’s understated and looks really good.
On the right I extended what looks like a racer’s pedal. My welding is pretty rough, I have to say.
With this wall thickness it’s not suitable for a pedal, so I’ll remake it later.
