Let’s perform valve clearance adjustment.

Why are we removing the cam holder, you ask?
The cranking feels kind of heavy… and when it’s too light, there’s a hollow feeling to it, which is odd.
With just the crank and piston, you can turn the cam chain by hand and it moves, so if there’s no abnormality, it’s usually something around the head or the cam chain.
The cam chain tension showed no change whether tight or loose. I checked the holder.
The cam and rocker arms are unusually clean—meaning new—with no signs of wear, which is reassuring.

By the way, this is the first M/N model I’ve seen without scuffing. I suspect it was replaced not long ago. That’s how severe the scuffing is on M/N models.

The oil management looks good—it’s very clean.

After synchronizing the carburetors, the oil-cooled maintenance is complete.
Next is the harness replacement.
