I repositioned the digital meter slightly forward to a more visible spot.
The left side is indeed a bit longer. When the GSXR1100 upper fairing warps, it warps all the way down.
Although it’s asymmetrical left and right, it feels great when the parts fit together smoothly without forcing anything.
The bracket is stainless steel at 1.2mm thickness, and with reinforcement it’s quite strong. I don’t think it will flutter in the wind at all. If you want to add an under-fairing, we’ve also installed a boss on the oil cooler, so you can attach and detach the bracket with just one bolt.
First, prep work as usual
We’re replacing the engine damper. Looks like it hasn’t been removed since 1991.

Looks like oil was leaking from the starter motor O-ring. Perfect timing?
We apply rust preventative oil for moisture protection and cleaning.
The generator damper was in average condition too. On bikes that run hot, the plastic can get rock hard like…
