Let’s perform oil-cooled maintenance.

When you remove the shift arm, the first notch becomes hard to see. The marking wears off. It’s easier to understand if you mark it on the step bar.

I removed the starter motor and generator. When you clean and rust-proof things like this, the next time you remove them you’ll think, “Hey! This looks pretty good!”

It was rattling and clicking.

I gave it a light polish. Attention to detail in the places no one sees.

I’ll keep the sprocket cover cleaning to a reasonable level. I rust-proofed the push rod and shift shaft with Slick Con. Keeping it from rusting.

It had worn quite a bit. After nearly 15 years, this one is really struggling.

Let’s clean the damper hole and blow out the gravel.

The latest-style damper as always.

The oil cooler clamp had stripped threads, so I installed a helicoil.

The breather cover has also been polished and looks great.
