Starting with a thorough chain cleaning and lubrication, we carefully wipe it down. Then we move on to the next steps.
We also replaced the hub damper. Suzuki dampers are durable and have excellent longevity.
The bearings had some play, so we adjusted the distance collar position.
The axle runout is no problem.
If too much grease is applied, the inside becomes sticky, so we cleaned it out.
While we had the wheel off recently, we checked the tire mounting condition.
If you notice slight runout, try removing the tire bead, applying tire wax, inflating to the maximum tire pressure, and letting it sit. Often the bead will seat properly and the tire will look great. (Though sometimes it won’t change.)
If the bead seats nicely, you might feel about a 1% improvement in ride.
The caliper was overhauled a while back, so it’s in clean condition. Operation is excellent.
A caliper in good condition retracts very smoothly. You don’t need to strain hard. If retraction feels sluggish, an overhaul might be worth considering.
CCI MR20 Metal Rubber—the long-standing issue with spray application is overspray everywhere, which means extra cleanup work. Finally it’s available in brush form, so you can apply the minimum amount deep into tight spots.

The pads were worn out, so we replaced them.
