Feels like I’m forgetting something… Oh! The silencer angle adjustment they asked for! Completely slipped my mind…
Let me check the materials and settings to see if it’s doable…
It’s pointing pretty far outward—kind of dapper?—but they want it angled more inward.
I was worried whether the press-fit would come out, thinking “I really had to force that in!”
Using a flat tool, I tapped it through the gap—tap, tap, tap!—and it came right out.
The rattling inside was the inner silencer.
I’ll secure it better next time.
Using a metal saw, I cut through the pipe with a nice high-pitched ring.
Checking the actual part to figure out what angle it should be.
Learned today that a marker and angle gauge aren’t reliable…
Using a pipe expander die, I’m widening the inner diameter so it fits over the 54 mm pipe.
Forgot to shoot one more! The other side gets expanded to 60.5 mm.
That’s how we welded it together and got it joined up.
Got nervous again today and couldn’t use the positioner ( ;∀;)
There’s a spring hook issue, so we’re putting the press-fit on hold for now.
Now the muffler bracket position doesn’t line up at all, so I’ll cut and adjust it.
I made a new boss for welding. The existing bracket I cut with a pipe notcher at a nice-looking angle and position.
Makes welding super easy.

Spring is on order. Came up with an idea for doing the hook nicely and easily…
The silencer band is a bit loose, so we need to fix that—waiting on parts.
