Everyone’s favorite? GSX1200S Inazuma 1200 oil-cooled Katana: is it a cursed blade or a fake sword? Not quite a lightsaber… maybe… Deco-mainte request. (Apologies for the nonsensical title.)

Sorry for the wait. This time it’s the Yoshimura stainless steel silencer.
You can tell from the side profile.

Looking at it, it’s quite an old model, so you might want to dash over to a tire shop!

The rear still has some life, but the front is about due.

Let’s clean and lubricate the throttle cable and throttle.
The throttle sleeve just needs a light rust preventative—about as much as you’d put on your own skin is fine.

The pedals have shielded bearings, so we’ll lubricate them externally.

Cleaned and lubricated the levers and side stand. Smooth operation will make riding much easier.

Cleaned, lubricated, and rust-proofed the front fork. Lifted the front to check steering and ventilate the fork.

The hub damper is fine. Cleaned and lubricated the chain. Also lubricated the speedometer cable.

The axle shaft is fine.

I touched up a few bolt heads with Gun Coat in between. Just cleaning the bolt heads makes everything feel so much tighter.

No runout or bending issues.

Wait… oh! I found a usable brake disc!
So I polished the surface and swapped it in. (It’s yours now.) The thinnest point is 4.7 mm, so you’re good.

The wheel bearings should be fine.

Cleaned all three calipers. The rear feels a bit stiff, but it’s not a problem yet.

Replaced the brake fluid with Golden Cruiser DOT 4.

There wasn’t anything particularly wrong.
Next is a test ride and we’re done.
