If I had to pick the last fairing bike I’d buy, it’d probably be a VTR1000SP2.

I’ve basically had a mental block against singles and twins, so I’ve never actually owned one before. (Except for small-displacement bikes.)
Once you want something, it’s hard for your brain to stop thinking about it.
You really need to think carefully about balancing it with reality.
When you want something, people naturally want to get their hands on it, right?
If it’s still cheap and small, there’s usually not much of a problem.
But when the price and size get bigger, you have to think about a lot of things.
Setting budget aside, the important thing first is space.
That’s right—storage.
It’s the same with machine tools, but buying is easy.
However, you have to set up proper storage space for something. Motorcycles are the same way. These days, it’s a harsh world where you can’t even park a bike on the street.
The other day I got really tempted by a certain pressure washer…
But I cooled my head and stopped myself (*’ω’*)
Next is frequency of use.
How often do you actually plan to use it? That’s something you need to consider too.
With machine tools again, I’ve bought things that turned out to have low usage. Small items aren’t much of a problem, but big ones are a pain to get rid of.
Same with motorcycles—you buy one but end up never riding it, the engine seizes up, and you have to sell it off to a dealer. It’s good to think things through carefully before you act.
When you run a shop, you end up with odd bits of space, so stuff just keeps piling up.
I thought about just going ahead and buying a VTR1000SP2…but I thought it over real carefully and decided against it. ( ；∀；)
Now, if you’re coming at it from a collector’s perspective, that’s a different story.
If you’ve got solid storage space and the financial means, I do admire that kind of enjoyment.
