Converting an Inazuma 1200 to an Oil-cooled Katana (GSX1200S)

Now the dreams expand? It’s an Inazuma 1200.
That said, there aren’t many of these left anymore, so… it’s not going to be easy.

If someone sees this article and says “I want to do it too,” we won’t be doing it anymore.
Custom work should really go to a custom shop.

This looked kind of fun, so we took on the job (‘ω’)ノ

The fuel tank isn’t from the 1100 model—it’s apparently from a 250/400.
Nice and roomy! The interior dimensions are wide, which makes it convenient and great.

The tabs were relocated and reused, I see—interesting.
It seems to be from some kind of kit, and that’s how they got it.

When grinding, we use a large cardboard partition bought from a place like Cardboard One, and when it gets damaged, we just toss it as trash.

TRUSCO Cardboard Holder 2-Pack TCH-436 [Safety Belt Fall Prevention Electrical Work High-Altitude Safety Work] This thing keeps it standing up nice and firm, so it’s really convenient.

Next, we’ll protect the whole frame well, cut it, and then break it in.

Oh wait, before that. If we secure it minimally after cutting so it doesn’t go “sproing,” we’ll have a bit more peace of mind.

Grinding takes more work than cutting. This time, thanks to the right tools, we got it done way faster. It’s still rough, so we’ll do a bit more finishing!
