But I think there are still so many things that remain hidden or deliberately not shown.
I’m constantly looking things up—honestly, it’d be faster to just say I don’t know anything.
I wish someone would create a site that gathers information like part numbers, dimensions, and materials.
Though it definitely wouldn’t appeal to the general public.
For example, customers might not realize this, but I sometimes need to look at imported bike manuals.
Usually I just search for things like “XXX MANUAL” or “XXX マニュアル” and work through the results one by one.
But how do you find a manual by its part number?
With Suzuki, it’s in the bottom right of the cover. The problem is, there are surprisingly many images where you can’t see it.
Maybe we’re past the paper era?
But in theory, you should be able to trace the model from the part number. Probably.
I really hope someone figures this out. I feel like I saw something like this overseas before, but my bookmark disappeared.
For instance,
even with the same carburetor, different models might not have O-ring specifications or front fork metal specifications.
Honestly, when tackling something for the first time, ordering parts is where I get stuck.
It would be great if there were a system that constantly updated old parts lists, including reproductions.

I think this kind of flow really works when people who genuinely love bikes and cars share information that gets aggregated—then more useful information gets collected and put to good use.

In five or ten years, I hope systems like this become more common, so that
when you tell your phone “GS1000S exhaust valve,”
it suggests similar dimensions and aftermarket options.
