Still okay… o-k-a-y?
No way. . . .
Meh~ moo-moo-moo psshhh.
Haven’t we all been there?
You get an initial spark, but there’s no power left to idle or rev up.
What do you do?
By the way, this only works on carburettor bikes.
Pull the choke to enrich the fuel mixture, and the engine will start and run a little bit.
If you just need to push it a short distance, that’s fine, but if you’re on a hill or a highway or somewhere dangerous, it could be risky.
Always keep risk in mind.
That’s super important.
It doesn’t take any extra effort or time. At our shop, this happens pretty often.
Come in with less gas~ —that’s what we say, so once in a while we get someone running on fumes.
Hmm, acceleration feels sluggish?
Oh no, oh no, oh no… I made it all the way to Komozawa Park…
Pushing a bike that gets 1.3 kilometers per liter is tough. And there are hills…
It’s too close to call a tow truck, but I don’t want to leave it here either…
That’s when one choke pull does the trick!
It does require some pretty unconventional riding technique, so be careful.
Surprisingly—or maybe not so surprisingly—you can actually go quite far, so when you’re really stuck, this trick might just save you.
Give it a try (*’ω’*)
