They’re labeled for specific models, but basically if the dimensions match, you can adapt them.
The possibilities are endless.
Can you actually feel the difference when you swap shafts?
You’d really need to swap back and forth between stock and chromoly a few times to say for sure.
In my case, I did other work at the same time, so I can’t really say.
If I get the chance, I have a stock GSF1200 original too, so it might be fun to swap it and see if there’s any change.
Isn’t the stock OEM already chromium-molybdenum steel (SCM material)?
I’m not a manufacturer, so I can’t say for sure, but…
I’d think they use decent material.
Better precision and finish is definitely a plus.
The clamp section is well machined and slides in smoothly
threading is smooth too
and it looks beautiful.
You might even feel a sense of increased rigidity.
With OEM parts going out of production, if you think yours is getting a bit worn, I’d say this is a solid option.
