When people ask why I don’t change the muffler… I want to counter-ask why would you change it??

This is the iron bracket that comes with the new KATANA B-77.
Iron really is the way… iron. I want to reuse this one… it’s easier.
It’s quite an elaborate design, isn’t it?
I appreciate the effort they put into it.
Since it’s such a hassle, I’m taking a super shortcut on mine.
I’m welding washers onto stainless steel pipe to make it look like a collar.
It reduces grinding work and is eco-friendly, I think.
Then I finish it with a grinder and belt sander for that aggressive aesthetic.
Once it’s cut and installed, it’s complete.
Since I’m lazy, I didn’t even paint it… that’s just how mine is.
It’s installed, but… it looks pretty rushed.
I was eager to ride, so I twisted the throttle wide open and took it for a spin.
“No bottom end and no top end” and “deafening noise”
Too much flow produces nothing… I only rode it twice.
I switched back to the stock muffler right away. In a way, I’m glad I didn’t spend time on it.
Aftermarket parts aren’t always effective, so sometimes you need to make the decision to remove them.
And then back to that Lexus-like quiet whoosh sound.
It’s not tiring, but there’s also the fear that no one notices you exist.
That’s fine for an old guy like me. The Inazuma 1200 is really a great toy…
