Finally made it to the main event.
All that effort cutting back on work is paying off.
I’m going to focus intensely on this beast and push forward.

I’m cleaning up the inside of the wheels before doing a tire change.
Since it’s currently tube-type, I’m going to go ahead and convert it to tubeless.

Everyone’s favorite—Plexus.
Writing the date used and trying to use it up in a year is actually pretty effective.

So now we’ve got aluminum air valves.
I’m the type who puts a gasket in between. It probably doesn’t do much, but it’s more of a washer-type approach.
*Air leak check confirmed.

The stem bearings are in good condition, so I’m reusing them.
Those Z tapered rollers are hard to remove… I’d really prefer not to weld if I can help it.

The stem is done.

The front fork parts haven’t arrived yet, so I’m looking into the stud bolts.
There’s no listing in the parts manual, so I’m going to adapt something.
Where the studs were seated, the surface had a raised area, so I chamfered it.

Why is it that this weird shop stocks all kinds of studs?
And they only come in packs of three? That’s frustrating…
Honda 92900-080320E—I’m using it for the Z1000MK2.
*Hopefully this will help with various searches.

This is the tool for installing stud bolts!

↑It’s so convenient I almost pee myself a little.
Well, you don’t use it that often, but… it’s worth having around.
To be continued.
