Here’s the rare beast I discovered quite a while ago!
It looks similar but has subtly evolved into a mysterious item.
I tried buying one, so I’d like to introduce each part.
Check it out!
Material is allegedly: Polycarbonate
Really? If true, it’s quite “resistant to cracks and chips.”
It has a clean image
Much more stylish than D-UNIT?
So that’s how it is? Wiring fixation is screw-in type
For better or worse, it’s screw-in type.
This means you can get “quite clean” in a sense.
Since no wiring comes out of the main body, you have high flexibility.
The rare beast has slightly thinner power and ground wires.
This is quite effective because “D-UNIT’s wires are quite thick.”
You need wires that can handle 20A=240W, but they’re thick nonetheless.
When laying out, it’s often somewhat difficult.
The screw-in gate “opens when loosened”
It’s exactly as it looks structurally.
It might be mainstream in electrical equipment?
Since you just need to strip it, it’s convenient.
When powered on, the LED lights up ☆
I don’t really want to place it somewhere visible.
But checking is extremely convenient.
Well, fuses don’t blow that often anyway…
When it blows, it lights up red to notify you.
I’d say it’s helpful if anything.
But if you don’t need it… well… ( ；∀；)
Is it actually outputting proper voltage?
As expected from a direct battery connection! It’s outputting proper voltage.
I think what you really want to know is how it actually performs.
Advantages
・The lid with claws is very sturdy
・Allegedly polycarbonate, so quite resistant to cracks
・Power/ground wires are slightly thinner, making layout easier
・Wiring is also screw-in, so high flexibility in length and such
・LED lighting makes it easy to check for blown fuses
I don’t really feel any downsides.
Well, as long as it doesn’t break…
I’d be surprised if they released a D-UNIT 2 with just a different logo…
I think it’s quite a good product.
