GSF1200 Inspection D-UNIT+ & Slender USB Mount Handlebar Swap

The GSF1200 is super rare (´ー｀)

We don’t see them very often around here, so in the general world… it’s ultra rare?
Suddenly…

It’s been so hot outside that I haven’t ridden the bike at all. Yep.
So let’s get started on the work! ♪

I want to experience the GSF1200’s original riding position.

Everyone’s riding posture becomes more upright as they age.
Maybe we’ve reached that good age where we can enjoy motorcycles in a relaxed, leisurely way?

Choosing handlebars is quite troublesome.
There are so many things to consider like width, height, rise angle, and so on.

When it comes to handlebars, it’s Hurricane.
I definitely spent a good half hour agonizing over the handlebar choice…

It’s a nice relaxed riding position like this.
Strangely, as you spend more time on motorcycles, you tend to gravitate back to the original? That’s what it feels like.

This component is truly revolutionary.
I can’t help but wonder what all the trouble was for before.

ETC/USB/Grip heater/Oil temperature gauge and more
Pulling 3 or 4 different systems from the bike harness side is just insane.
I think this item has even reduced the number of burnt-out wiring jobs in the world…
Maybe. Probably. Who knows.

I prefer not to stick things directly if I can help it.
Cut SUS plate and push rivets!
Stick it to this plate and detach with push rivets! Easy peasy.

I’m changing the Gibson connectors to 110-series connectors.
The convenience improves dramatically.

Stuck it on and installation is complete.
ON 12V is the license plate light
Constant 12V is the starter relay BT side
Ground is the battery. (doesn’t reach the engine)

“Is A okay?” A is the safest choice!

Since we’re at it, I want to get a proper signal from the D-UNIT+.
I made an extension harness (*´ω｀*)

Once installation is complete, be sure to check it with a tester.

The Showray was installed in quite a mysterious layout,
so I tried to keep things as clean and neat as possible.

Avoid carelessly co-tightening to the battery.
And definitely put the terminal cover on—it can seriously catch fire.
Don’t underestimate the battery, especially lithium ones, as the consequences can be serious. Please be careful.

Terminal covers come in so many varieties that it’s worth checking out a few options.
Straight/90°. Red and black color options. Square and round shapes, all kinds.
Look for affordable ones from Honda and keep a stock on hand—they come in handy for all sorts of things.
