What’s the deal with reciprocating (back-and-forth) anyway? Really.
You don’t know until you try it—tools might just be a matter of compatibility.
Cutting = reciprocating (back-and-forth) type. Screech-screech sound, you know.
Cutting with a grinder basically “sparks? metal shavings?” come out and I don’t really like it. *Probably nobody likes it?
When I’m chopping up a bike frame, I basically use an “air saw” and the reciprocating saw is a perfect match for me. (*´ω｀*)
Now, I occasionally have “grass-cutting sessions” and I use Makita’s compact chainsaw MUC101DZ but…
“surprisingly not that useful.” Well, it cuts great, but “the diameter it handles is small” .
*Sure, that’s written in the specs, but… you want to use it for everything, right?
With a reciprocating saw, “long blades and short blades” can both be swapped out and used = it’s versatile that’s the thing.
Use a metal blade and you can use it for work too~ (*´ω｀*)
This one was popular too, it seems, and depending on the season it gets hard to find.
Now’s your chance. “ Winter stuff in summer, summer stuff in winter ” might be the sweet spot.

Work gets done faster so you don’t get frustrated, and you carry less stuff —that’s the thing.

Even just sitting it on a table like this, it doesn’t shake nearly as much = no fatigue, no numbness .

Since it’s reciprocating cutting, you feel the blade clogging, chip ejection, and contact length, and working with that in mind is efficient.

Easy for anyone to use, high safety, and good recovery options— “reciprocating saw”
If you just want to fell branches or wood, I’d say go with a reciprocating saw first.
However, cutting speed doesn’t match a chainsaw .
Having both would be nice. . If you had to pick just one, reciprocating saw all the way
When Makita gets popular, it goes super hard to find! The time to buy is when you think of it.
