18 Years of Truth? Bandit 1200K6 Inspection Yoshimura ST-1 Cam Oil-Cooled Maintenance DID Drive Chain Replacement and More

I completely forgot that I was asked to replace the clutch (;∀;)

Conveniently, I have FCC in stock, gaskets, and lock nuts too—perfect.
Let me assemble this quickly.
FCC clutch is reliable, you know~

I’m an FCC clutch believer (*´ω`*)

The lineup has been consolidated? Now it’s two options“Hub and Pressure Plate” set has made a comeback.
There’s TYPE-D and G, with only the difference being shims.
If you’re unsure, choosing TYPE-D (with shims) is the safe bet. It’s only a difference of a few hundred yen.

If you plan to replace it, it’s better to buy and keep it on hand.
Once replaced, it should be fine for as long as you live? Probably…

I hate this design. Let me remove the spring holder bolt.

Without a compression tool, it’s basically a slipping structure.
I’m finally saying goodbye to this design (*´ω`*)

Clutches don’t wear down much. Deterioration is the main issue

Large bikes don’t use half-clutch much on the street.
Plus, riders with higher skill levels drive more gently. Abnormal wear is rare, I think.

Rather,
“friction material hardening and deterioration”causes loss of grip, leading to slipping and burning—that’s the impression I get.
You don’t see that much anymore these days.

Engine conditioner really removes sludge well

When I replaced the cam, it had quite a bit of grime too.
The clutch basket is also pretty dark… feeling.

That’s when engine conditioner comes in handy. Spray it on and brush it clean and you’re done in no time!

I cleaned up the hub too (even though I won’t use it…)

Diaphragm SPG becomes Coil SPG

Maintenance and spring rate changes become dramatically easier! *Though it’s rare to do that much…

Tighten it firmly and then lock it to complete.

Lately I’m too lazy to replace them, so I just polish the windows!
They really come back to life (*´ω`*)

Now for the test ride to finish it up~
