This Bandit 1200 color scheme looks great, doesn’t it?
Lately I’ve been thinking the Bandit 1200 is actually an underrated oil-cooled option.
*The exhaust is a bit of a hassle though…
Today we’re just doing chain and master replacement.
Bright Logic full exhaust already installed (*´ω`*)

Yeah, that’s a nice muffler… looks cool.
Converting to 520 with DID/Sunstar/RK

I’m a DID chain fan. *No bias, I’m just a fan on my own.
Front is Sunstar 333-15T
Rear is RK M03PS-43T *Changed to make it longer as requested.
Clean and rust-proof it

Thread compound is powerful.
Whether from heat or dirt, it doesn’t fly off easily = doesn’t touch air = doesn’t rust
You can even use it on spots where you’re worried about a little rust. Definitely try it!
Polish the counter shaft threads until they shine before assembly.

Remove the microcapsules and use liquid threadlocker instead.
The microcapsules get really stiff during installation and the torque becomes uncertain, which is a bit worrying.
Switching to liquid gives you solid, reliable, and confident assembly.

I prefer to stake at least 2 spots.
Let’s make sure it’s safe even if you’re pushing hard at the track.

Finished with Beautho.

Oh… I’m using a wheel lifter. Super convenient (*´ω`*)

I remove the chain adjuster bolts.
When these get rusty, it really bothers you.
The threads should go in smooth and come out smooth.

That’s how we did the 520 conversion.
It’s getting long so continuing to part 2…
