Reassuringly? The Dymag—isn’t the air valve position heavy??
Among all the aftermarket wheels, the one with the least heavy air valve position is… On the wheel alone, “combining the heaviest spot on the wheel with the light spot on the tire” reduces the weight, we predict.
We ended up with 5g front / 0g rear.
Let’s check the actual tire width.
Front wheel 2.75-18 paired with 110/80-18. It measured about 111 mm.
Rear wheel 4.50-18 paired with 150/70-18. It measured about 161 mm. *Note it’s 4.50 width.
On older motorcycles, chain and swingarm contact issues come up, so it’s actually useful information to know.
Little things like this make tire changes go smoothly.
Wrapping the wheel protects it from scratches during removal and installation. We don’t want to cause any damage if we can help it. If scratches appear after all this, we apologize.
Balance weights come off easily with a string pull. Avoid hitting or prying them off—a smooth, safe approach works better.
Hmm, hmm, hmm… it won’t fit in the swingarm.
Going from the Conti 65-profile to a standard 70-profile… hmm…
It won’t go forward either… The chain tension is already a bit tight in this state. Maybe one link more would work??
I keep all the scraps from everyone’s new chains. Will I collect about 120 links before I’m gone?
Joking aside, I pulled the chain to the max, but now it can’t be adjusted… As expected, which is reassuring. So I’m going to cut out the contact area cleanly and reweld it.
