Today nobody was scheduled to come, so I spent the whole day tidying up bit by bit. While I’m still in Tokyo, I’m getting things organized so I can jump right into work.
Even I have to admit “I’m organizing and arranging things pretty well” and I’m impressed with myself. Last time “from Himonya to Kakinoki-zaka” when we relocated, it was much more of a hassle. I always “dispose of unnecessary things, organize and manage necessary things” and I think this approach is really paying off.
For now, I don’t have much time today, so I’m just posting a quick progress update
I’ve actually wanted to redo the sorting of this for a long time. The timing just never worked out, so I couldn’t get to it.
The time spent looking for things is incredibly wasteful. If you add it all up over a year, it probably amounts to a considerable number of days, doesn’t it? “Grab what you need in a flash and put it away smoothly” When you organize things one by one like that, your efficiency skyrockets.
I was actually planning to write a blog post today about “the tried-and-true organization box series” but I didn’t manage to.
And today, while replacing labels, I really felt it again. I’ve mentioned it many times before, but I used to love “Tepra” label makers.
But with Tepra, when you peel off the label, “the ink color always leaves residue” and removing that is tediously difficult. At our shop, we can remove it with organic solvents, but for household use, it’s actually pretty tough, isn’t it?
With a Brother P-touch, on the other hand, “the ink color barely leaves any residue” And here’s the amazing part: “even if you wipe the tape with acetone, the text doesn’t fade” Its solvent resistance is incredible – if you’re choosing, I honestly can’t think of anything but P-touch.

This cramped workshop is actually a balcony… Looking back now, I’m amazed we actually did machining work here. The heavy equipment will be moved out by the machinery company, but I’m moving the lighter stuff out bit by bit myself.
On the wagon right in front of me, there are two TIG welding machines stacked vertically. By putting them on a wagon, moving them is easy and the space underneath is easier to clean.
Basically, I think it’s more efficient not to put things directly on the ground. As I start moving things out, I’m really feeling that this is a relocation.
When you organize with boxes and wagons, it has a unified look (*´ω｀*)
We’ve been moving things we won’t need for a few days to one section. If you organize and manage things to make them as easy to move as possible, I think relocations and rearrangements like this become simple.
Everyone will eventually face a time when they need to declutter or organize. I think it’s good to start organizing things one by one without being lazy about it. If you’re not going out for Golden Week, you might as well sell or throw away unnecessary stuff aggressively.
