If you think about it from the stage of acquiring the factory land, we started around June 2023. It’s only been about two years, but looking back, it feels like a very long time.
The factory construction process this time was incredibly challenging, but it was interesting. For those considering building a garage or factory in the future, I hope the blog information can be of some help.
With the craftsmen’s enthusiasm, “I’d like to refine the floor coating a bit more,” so completion is one week away. Due to electrical work, full completion will be at the end of May or early June.
So let me share what I saw yesterday. *Since it was mostly meetings, there are fewer images.
First, “Is a hand-washing area in the restroom necessary?”
Since the factory is brand new, even a single toilet requires careful consideration. Basically, “easy to clean, simple, and highly expandable” items were selected.
The toilet we chose is “TOTO Purerest EX” CS400B–SH400BA-NW1 Since talking about toilets gets lengthy, let’s meet again in the toilet edition.
The most important consideration was easy cleaning! Plus affordable pricing! And even better, as an expandable feature, “you can add a bidet seat later.” This is what’s called “combination toilet seats.” Since there are many pattern options to choose from, ordering can be a bit tedious, so caution is needed. Since it was owner-supplied, when I received the package, I thought,
“It’s this heavy!” And honestly, if you can replace it for this price, you’d want to do it at least once.
By the way, I just realized that toilet seat mounting pitch is surprisingly universal.
The toilet size is not too small, not too large—a comfortable space to use. Don’t you feel that a cramped toilet is a bit uncomfortable, and a spacious one feels a bit unsettling?
Our second-floor toilet at home is so spacious that it makes me feel uneasy. I calculated these dimensions by subtracting from our home toilet.
Simple is best for the paper holder! TOTO YH405
I chose something with very simple design and function. Changing toilet paper can be annoying with certain products, right? And I really dislike those mysterious plastic products that are hard to clean.
I believe that nothing overly elaborate, with simple function and design, is best.
Basically, items that aren’t too costly, have simple structure, and are easy to replace —I think simple construction is very good for everything.

A bit surprising, quite surprising actually.
Wide Space House HHK-6035 is 111 m² (approximately 34 tsubo)
It’s almost the same floor area as our current Tokyo shop. However, this factory is slightly narrower but has more length and height, so it feels incredibly spacious.
It’s about 17 meters in a straight line, so that’s pretty good. I think it’s just right—not too large, not too small. Since vehicles can drive straight in, “we can now work on cars indoors.”
The color is “new navy” I was really happy this color was released at just the right time. It’s a slightly matte navy with a calm feel—really nice.
By the way, we won’t put up a sign. I think it’s good that you can’t tell from the outside what it is.
The exterior is an American fence (PC fence)
It’s a bit trendy, and I’m a bit embarrassed to say so, but… after looking at various fences, the one I thought was best was “American fence.” PC fence
Of course, since we had to think about the fence, it was an interesting opportunity to research. In talking with the landscaping contractor, “if the fence is too high, it looks like a prison,” —a very memorable comment.
A point I noticed along the way.
I happened to notice that a large materials supplier “had to make multiple turns when arriving by truck,” so I got the idea. Just rounding off the corner a bit should make vehicle entry easier. So having them round off the corner a bit was a great call!
I plan to do the same on the home side in the future.

So now, a bit late, we ended up building it along the road. By the way, if we couldn’t get electricity, that would have been a big problem anyway…
