Wow! An RG500Γ with KR500 flavor! Excerpt of requested work within budget – this

The RG 500 Gamma seems like it’s almost done but never quite finishes.
Every time I remove a part, various issues pop up.
Old bikes are scary, aren’t they? (*´ω`*)

Let’s not try to finish everything at once, but tackle things one by one.

Secret? 【New Factory Completion Celebration】The dream motorcycle maintenance SHOP is finally in full operation!

Sekaiimon, which makes eBay easy, is excellent (*´ω`*)

It’s hot so they probably won’t ride it, but I want to deliver it soon anyway

Since the RG 500 has been around for quite some time, all sorts of things happen when you disassemble it.
I want to take my time and tackle things one by one without rushing or panicking.

Replacing the cracked sprocket inner cover from the other day

Seriously, I was saved by the perfect timing of it being listed on Yahoo Auctions.
If someone asked me to repair this properly, it would be quite a hassle.

Oil seals are still available as parts, but O-rings are discontinued.
When I really need to, I’ll search for alternatives, but this time I’ll just reuse what’s there.

I’ll polish the countershaft nicely when I remove the sprocket before reassembling.
It’s hardened and super tough, but I assemble parts with the spirit of “no way, absolute power play.”

There’s a spot where part of the spline is chipped.
Also, there’s a slight mark on the threaded section of the shaft like it was struck.
Since there’s no issue with use, I’m just reporting it.

Wow! So they’re cutting the drive sprocket…
It’s turned out really masculine looking.

So the lock nuts and lock washers are new this time – is it a service?
I’ve bent them in three places.

Inside the sprocket cover there are two washers each missing.
The number of parts increases and installation is tedious.

I’ve remade it with a slightly larger outer diameter to dimensions that don’t cause problems.
The spline engagement with the shift arm is delicate and you can’t push it in too far.

While replacing the fuel hoses… ??

The plastic part of the starter plunger was broken. . . . .
It’s still available as a part, so I’ve ordered it.

Every time I remove something, something else happens – it’s a bit scary.

I’ve replaced the front brake reservoir tank with a nice smoke tint.
The small storage area – or rather the fenderless section – I’ve painted black with cationic coating.

I’ve replaced the handlebar grips with Yoshimura.
I’ve also adapted a throttle sleeve with a similar winding diameter.
*I think it’s Kawasaki…

To make fuel tank removal a bit easier, I’ve replaced the fuel sensor with a connector.
It’s almost done, but it seems like it’s never quite finished – just a little bit more.

Please wait just a bit longer.
