My first SHOEI was amazing. “Glamster BLAST” TC-2 Black/Blue, Size S—I’m blown away by the design, lightweight feel, and fit. Will there be a six-month wait???

My first SHOEI ever.
I’ve always liked the Glamster design, but I never quite took the plunge to buy one.
But this time, the SHOEI “Glamster BLAST” TC-2 in black and blue is absolutely perfect for me.

I spent a few days going back and forth in my head
and ended up heading to “Ichihara 2-Rinkan” to try on the Glamster’s fit first, and I went ahead and placed a pre-order.
I was expecting a six-month wait, but it arrived on the release date—they’re sending it to me!

I wanted to know the shell size.

I wear either size S or XS helmets.
The shell is common to a certain extent, and I wanted to know what the fit feels like, so I went to 2-Rinkan to try it on.

I was surprised by the fit and lightness, just as I’d expected, and I ended up placing a pre-order and heading home (*´ω｀*)
Just like with clothes, helmets have sizes that look good on you and sizes that don’t so it matters.
It would be helpful if we could see not just standalone helmet images
but also “different models by height and weight” right?

But then again, head size comes into play too, so it’s tricky…

There’s also a fitting service, but… it actually makes sense.
Your head size is measured with a special scale → the numbers go into special software → recommended sizes pop out.

In the end, adjustments only go one way—bigger = larger shell so the recommendation tends to lean that way.
In reality, even though size S still needs padding the recommendation is “L or XL”
taking that at face value when choosing your shell can be risky.
In the end, you just have to try it on and feel the fit yourself.

Brings back memories—I used to wear helmets with this kind of design (*´ω｀*)
I’m definitely a clear shield person.
There’s less glare than you’d think, and “just wear sunglasses”
gives you absolutely more visual information… probably.

Actually wearing it! Here’s what it looks like

It has more of a refined look than I expected.

The size is kind of hard to tell—you can see it but also can’t?
I don’t have a nice mirror, and selfies are rough… But it looks cool.

Test ride to Tsurugashima Beach. I wanted to see the ocean…

I’d never actually set up a compact tripod and taken selfies before…
but I learned a bit today.
It’s actually pretty fun (*´ω｀*)

While I was shooting solo, a beautiful woman came up and said “Want me to take a photo for you?” (*´ω｀*)
No, no—I’m too embarrassed!
There are so many kind people out there.

Overall thoughts. It’s really great—I’m like Urashima Tarō, so

This time with SHOEI “Glamster BLAST” TC-2, Size S
I’ve added 2mm of sponge to the cheek pads (left and right on the cheeks).
With this, it’s still loose.
I’m changing the cheek pads from the standard 35mm to 39mm.
I like how the helmet doesn’t move even when I shake my head up and down or side to side.
Whether accelerating hard or facing strong wind, having the helmet stay locked in place with your head makes you less fatigued.

The interior and fit are surprisingly excellent.
I’m at the point where I don’t think I’ll buy Arai anymore…
Head shape varies, so it’s more like “this worked great for me.”

And it’s unbelievably light .
I’m seriously shocked (‘Д’)
I’m such an Urashima Tarō that I’m slowly experiencing how fast the world moves and changes.
SHOEI makes it easy to remove the shield and interior, which is really great.

The BLAST had a six-month wait, and when I pre-ordered, I was so happy I also bought the black version…
I’m an idiot, seriously…
This one’s pretty iffy… I’ll go with the usual Lawson replica for this one.
