On the day it arrived, I immediately tried splitting wood… but it didn’t split as well as I hoped.
The reason was… The hammer was too small.

So for several days, I went on a hammer-hunting patrol through the internet world…
After going around about 8 times, I finally found TONE, Japan’s beloved tool manufacturer.
Simple, eye-catching design and just the right weight…
What’s amazing is it’s only about 3,400 yen (including tax). That’s the thing…

With this, I was able to split oak wood easily.

I like tools that look good to own and can be loved for a long time.

There are many similar products to the Kindling Cracker 72000.
In the worst case, there are ones in the 3,000 yen range, but if they break from impact, you’ll regret choosing poor quality tools.

Since you’re hitting with a hammer, the instantaneous force is considerable.
If that cheap product breaks and flies back at you, that’s a possibility you want to avoid.
So I purchased the official product.

I went around in circles many times looking for a hammer.
Just by being in the wood splitting category, prices tend to be quite high.

You don’t know how it will work out… and personal preference matters, plus it depends on the type and amount of wood you’re splitting.
Reasonably heavy, well-designed, affordable price, and usable for work too.
With all four of those factors, I spent a long week deliberating… it felt long.

The TONE sticker is also nicely designed.
Most importantly, “the red is good”
I thought to myself, yeah, TONE never lets you down.

The BHAD-50 weighs 2.7kg, so I briefly thought the smaller BHAD-30 (1.65kg) might be enough.
But the heavier one really makes it easier when splitting hard wood like oak.
I think this comes down to personal preference, but I’m glad I went with the BHAD-50.

Ugh… it’s heavy…
First, I tap it lightly like driving a nail.

Next, by hitting the part perpendicular to the Kindling Cracker blade, you can deliver the impact efficiently.

Even though the hammer itself is heavy, “you don’t need to swing it with all your might,” so it’s easy.
With just a tap-tap, it splits, so even women find it really easy.

I tried it too. Yeah, efficiency really comes down to the right tools…

All the struggle from before seemed like a lie, and
we finished splitting 40kg of wood in no time.

Good tools make things flow smoothly.
After use, you can polish it or just keep it stored—it looks great either way.
I want to choose tools I can love for a long time and create a wonderful environment for daily use.
