A slightly modified KLX250 was recently purchased and sent to our secret factory in Chiba (*´ω`*) We’re going for meaty torque gains with the pig-nose fairing, Hayabusa injector, and secondary air cutoff.
Today’s Custom: Swapping the stock injector for a Suzuki OEM “12-hole injector (Part No.: 15710-21H10)”.
Custom Goal: To eliminate the jerky throttle response and thin torque at low RPMs that are characteristic of early injection models.
Result: The fuel “atomization” becomes extremely fine, improving combustion efficiency and creating a rich, sticky “meaty” torque feel from the moment you crack the throttle!

The design could use some work, but it didn’t happen…
It has quite an odd-looking face mask. The old square headlight looks better, doesn’t it? *subjective opinion
It has a rather mysterious construction… The tandem belt is fixed to the frame side in this system.
The seat wouldn’t come off easily, which gave us a bit of trouble.
Kawasaki 14073-1577 Nicknamed: Pig-Nose
It’s from a KDX250 or thereabouts. The hole diameter is larger and the length is shorter.
At first glance “Using just this will make things worse~” was the impression I got (*´ω`*) The absolute intake volume increases, but the flow velocity doesn’t increase at all in the wrong direction. We installed it anyway and fired up the engine with just this…
It doesn’t respond at all, even with full throttle blips… Well, using just this is pointless, or rather it only makes things worse, so be careful.
We’re using the Suzuki 15710-21H10 Hayabusa 12-hole injector. Since the mounting dimensions are the same, it’s interesting that the injection system fits too.
I thought you could only adjust this with a full-con or sub-con (*´ω`*)
We’re also replacing the seals. We went with Kawasaki since it’s a hassle. We didn’t compare prices with Suzuki~
The black one is a square-section seal. Hmm, interesting. Looks like it could be useful.
The Phillips screws holding the injector were seized, which was dangerous ( ;∀;) The black joint holding it in place is being reused, so rough work was a no-go.
Honestly, I was already thinking “hmm…” at the pig-nose stage. Would this injector really make that much difference…
Wait, that’s actually pretty good… After a light test ride there’s no dramatic change, but you can definitely feel the meaty torque increase.
I need to buy an off-road bike soon too… (´ー`)
We’ll continue with the work.
KLX250 (LX250S) Tuning: The Famous 12-Hole Injector Swap for Rich Torque!
Vehicle: Kawasaki KLX250 (FI model LX250S). Topic: Improving low-end torque and throttle response via a fuel injector swap. Details: Many early fuel-injected 250cc models suffer from a jerky throttle and thin low-end torque due to lean emissions tuning. Today, we applied a well-known, highly effective trick: swapping the stock injector for a Suzuki OEM 12-hole injector (Part No. 15710-21H10). The increased number of tiny holes creates a much finer fuel mist (better atomization). This allows the fuel to mix more thoroughly with the air, significantly improving combustion efficiency. Verdict: The result on the test ride was incredible. The bike developed a rich, tractable, “sticky” torque at low and mid-RPMs, completely transforming the low-speed rideability. A highly recommended mod for KLX250 and D-Tracker X owners!
