Did you all know about TK vaporizers?
I had never seen one before myself.
While researching various things about the GPZ 550, I learned there were two types of carburetors: TK carbs and Keihin carbs.
However, I suspect that TK carbs are rarely used as original equipment.
I’m not planning to use it heavily this time,
but since the bore is 27mm, I’m planning to eventually swap it out for a Zephyr CVK30.
Since it’s hard to find TK carb dimensions anywhere, I’m posting them here for reference.

Appearance that looks just like a Mikuni BS carb
At first glance, it looks exactly like a Mikuni BS carb.
It’s amazing that the idle control is remote-operated for this era.
The total length is approximately 106mm.
If you’re adapting it with the stock air cleaner box setup, it’s a good idea to check the length including the intake manifold.
1-4 and 3-4 are approximately 71mm. If you subtract the diameter from the total width, it’s easy to figure out.

If you loosen the vacuum carb mounting bolts, it surprisingly moves around quite a bit.
It’s not that precisely “00mm” or anything.
The design has some flexibility built in.

I want to use these dimensions for the next CVK30 swap, not just this time.
Going from 27φ to the latest(?) CVK30φ should definitely boost performance.
The Zephyr X with TPS is also tempting,
but since the stock igniter doesn’t support it, I’m planning to go with the standard version.
This engine had a very long lifespan, so there are plenty of compatible parts available, and I’m spoiled for choice with what I want to do.
