I patrol Chiba Prefecture every week as a rule. I’m doing it now. Somehow when people ask “isn’t there anything good?” I want to have an answer ready… With that kind of service spirit, I enjoy riding around.
It’s about 20 minutes and 15 kilometers from my place. Super close! (*´ω｀*) Since the direct route is close, I took a bit of a detour to get there.
There’s a rustic sign along the highway, but… I never noticed it until now…
The parking lot has both asphalt and dirt sections. It’s best to park the bike on the asphalt right in front of the restaurant.
Now let me go in. I was the only solo diner. Elderly folks who were already well into their meal were having a great time. That’s early—it’s not even noon yet.
Sashimi set & fried octopus
The miso soup and small side dishes aren’t in the photo. Plus, two pieces of fried fish come later, so there’s actually quite a bit of volume.
It’s very delicious, but I’m starting to think seafood bowls and sashimi might not be ideal for lunch. When it’s a bit chilly outside, something warm really hits the spot.
The fried octopus was absolutely delicious! (*´ω｀*)
I almost forgot about a customer coming in…
This GPz550 has a very thin low-end. When you rev it, it’s not exactly blazing fast. Revving it continuously feels a bit sad. I like the Zephyr 550 + Dynojet tuning character, so if this bike had that kind of feel, I think I could love it even more.
But the integration of this seat, side cover, and fuel tank is excellent. You can get a solid knee grip.
It seems more carefully crafted than the Zephyr in that regard. When I rev it hard and ride aggressively, I noticed some oil around the sprocket cover… I have some maintenance tasks piling up, so I’ll check on it again soon.
Occasional Ride: GPz550 Touring for Live Seafood in Isumi.
Vehicle: Kawasaki GPz550 (ZX550) . Ride: Spring is almost here. I took my GPz550 out for a short maintenance ride to the neighboring Isumi City. Lunch: Enjoyed an amazing lunch at a local “Ikesu Ryori” (live fish tank seafood) restaurant. The sashimi was incredibly fresh. Verdict: Riding the torquey 550cc bike along the coast and eating delicious local seafood is the ultimate way to recharge. Living in Chiba is the best!
