I’m the type who wants to keep smartphone charging as simple as possible.
The more convenient things become, the more stuff clutters up around the handlebars, making it look pretty ugly.
If you really want to perfect it, having nothing attached would be the most simple and beautiful.
In that context, I never even thought about having smartphone charging available.
Basically, I carry a mobile battery around and charge it during breaks.
Surprisingly, that works fine.
But then I realized that smartphones aren’t the only things that need charging!
I just realized this the other day.
Action cameras and digital SLR cameras also need charging
and one mobile battery just isn’t enough.
So I thought, if at least the smartphone’s battery wouldn’t drain, that would be nice
and I seriously started looking for wireless charging.
No USB connector needed! No USB cable needed! Length is completely customizable
There are two types: one for bikes and one for marine bikes, so be careful to note the difference.
I’d recommend the marine bike version. It offers even better waterproof and dustproof protection and has a much simpler configuration.
The power and ground wires come out directly, so you can adjust the length freely.
Is that a bit hard to understand?
In other words,
you don’t need to install a USB connector on the bike frame. You don’t need to buy a USB cable.
If you secure 12-24V power and ground, that’s all you need to charge—it’s a wonderful item.
Since it only uses power and ground, you can make the length as short as you want if needed.
If you’re currently using various things from a USB connector on your bike,
take a good look at the handlebar area and you’ll understand.
You’ll probably find USB cables of the wrong length coiled up messily everywhere.
With this system, you can make the length fit perfectly and neatly.
It’s easy to transfer to other bikes you own
If you use USB connectors, you’d need to buy and install a USB connector for each bike.
But with this marine bike version, you only need power and ground for installation.
Installation is very low-cost and quick.
Even if worst comes to worst and you connect it directly to the battery, it still works—it’s a wonderful item.
Some of the parts are a bit specialized, so be careful
Basically they’re the same, except the structure of the top plate is slightly different.
The top plate shape is different from a standard QUADLOCK, so don’t lose it.
The center has a cross-shaped cut for wireless charging, and the shape is different with no compatibility.
This cover is not available as a small part replacement, so be careful not to lose or damage it.
Otherwise, there’s nothing unusual—you just join the parts together to create this structure.
If you’re not too concerned about vibration, you don’t need to force a damper on it.
But if you’re a bit worried, I think it’s better to add one for peace of mind.
Lever-less dual-stage lock is unique?
There’s a spring inside that you push down to lock it.
This way, there’s no worry about it coming loose.
When I first got it, I was a bit puzzled because there was no lever, but once I touched it, I felt reassured.
Now smartphone charging is perfect!
If you can install it this simply, I’d definitely recommend it.
However, it does cost a bit, so you need to have some budget.
If you’re willing to spend
to install it simply, use it on other bikes, have easy attachment and detachment, and find the optimal mounting position,
I think this is really great for you.
