I’m happy when quick jobs get done fast. Most of the time things don’t go as planned, such is the state of things these days, yes indeed.
I’m the type who likes to use the center stand when it comes with the bike. I wonder if I can look cool deploying the center stand? It’s surprisingly important.
At some point! There’s a large puddle of liquid stuff on the ground.
At first I thought it might be overflow? But there’s absolutely no smell of gasoline. When I touched it, it felt slimy, and when I lifted it up, it was dripping from the rear shock.
A rear shock that’s leaked this badly is extremely rare, and I was honestly a bit spooked. If something like this happened while riding a monoshock bike, you’d definitely crash 100%. The more you work on motorcycles, the less you can trust anything—that’s the nature of this job.
Removing the rear shock for overhaul.
This wheel lift is definitely making my best buy list for the year. It’s incredibly useful for any kind of work. Every time I use it, I really think I’m glad I bought it.
For now, we’re on hold until the rear suspension comes back.
