We did the cam swap on Saturday and things went smoothly right up to engine start.
The Inazuma coil mounting is way too problematic. The frame-side threads are critical. If they don’t go in smoothly, it gets frustrating, so I’m going in with maximum preparation.
An aluminum collar goes into the coil (OEM) It’s hard to insert, maximum difficulty. *I’m used to it so it’s fine for me…
I applied some Wets while praying it goes in smoothly! With the feeling that love will save the earth (*´ω｀*)
Replacing the oil seal along with the fork oil change
The Kowa spring compressor I got last year is long! so it’s a lifesaver. I’m sure they never imagined it would be used this way.
Fill the fork fully extended with fork oil. Then just apply light tension with this compressor and warm it with a Makita heat gun . It goes “whoosh” and the pressure pops out the oil seal .
You don’t need much tension, so a piece of wood works fine.
The downside is the bottom case gets soaked. Maybe I should try doing it upside down.
I’ll test it next time.
It comes out in an interesting way. I think it’s good for people who just want to replace the seal.
The fork oil was nicely dirty.
