About the GSX-R1100MN
Both the GSX-R1100MN and GSX-R750RK
use the “BST40”
The GSX-R750RK intake manifold is supplied by Yoshimura
as part number 1310S-07D02.
It’s originally designed for TMR installation
I thought it might work on the MN
but “it didn’t work”…
That’s what this post is about
Everyone loves that Yoshimura box with the “Yo” character…
The product labeling is a bit ambiguous
It says “Insulator Rubber”
not actually an intake manifold…
Even on the Yoshimura website
it’s a hard-to-find item

Quite a surprise!
When I looked up the part number in the image
it showed “discontinued”…??
This is just speculation, but
I think Yoshimura
has become a bridge
in a positive way for Suzuki’s parts issues…

To put it bluntly
The RK intake manifold cannot be used on the GSX-R1100MN stock carb
I honestly thought they wouldn’t be that different!
but…
I was wrong.
Looking at the images, they seem pretty similar
but there are subtle differences
Probably why it’s offset upward…

The RK’s BST40 also
has a cap for MJ replacement
which “sticks out”.
When you swap to TMR
around the generator area
there’s contact or it’s very close
which is probably why…

Since I wasn’t satisfied
I pulled out the
engine block…
The quickest way is to actually install it
and see.
Wow, that looks cool♪
but this isn’t the time to play around
For now, just to make it
look good, I used just the head.
A brand new intake manifold really
has a nice fit…
I think to myself wistfully
The GSX-R750RK version“sits higher”
If you try to use the RK manifold on the 1100
it sits too high
and the frame
#1.4 top cover makes contact
The carb won’t even fit
It’s just a small difference
but it’s actually impossible
Forcing it can crack things or
cause other problems, so it’s better not to
I’ll say it again
“GSX-R1100MN with stock carb setup”
is what this is about.
So in conclusion
since the GSXR1100MN intake manifold is discontinued
“keep using the original”
