Just changing the color scheme makes it look super tough (*´ω`*)
The fork is leaking oil? Yeah, that’s the issue…
I want to do a quick check-up while working on it!

This really stands out, doesn’t it?
Apparently they got a complete repaint job on all the fairings…
Lucky! That’s awesome.

Actually…
I’ve been wanting to work on inverted forks for a while now ♪
I bought this a little while back
KOWA Seiki Fork Spring Compressor II
I’ve been eager to use this thing.
If it works well, I can get rid of the old one and free up some shop space (*´ω`*)
【Fork Set Usable Effective Length】690mm-900mm
The RVF400 fork free length turned out to be too short to use…
Hmm…
Spacers… spacers…
Let’s go with the least complicated approach (゜_゜>)

A 50×50 piece of what’s supposedly 7N01 aluminum was excavated from the material storage.
I think it was something I got from driver K back in the day. Nostalgic…
Since there’s plenty of meat on it, I tapped M6 and M8 holes and it’s done (*´ω`*)

It fits perfectly like this.
I probably won’t take it apart again.
Since the 【Fork Set Usable Effective Length】is 690mm-900mm.
There’s no reason to disassemble such a long inverted fork…

The push-down handle must be OEM from each manufacturer.

The top threading is extremely smooth.
If it’s this robust, you can turn it with a Makita impact driver.
*Just use low speed, okay.
Work efficiency really improves.

What’s really great is“it stands on its own”
We never had a self-standing one before…
Plus it has plenty of rigidity, so you can compress with confidence.
This is a really good tool.
And it’s cheaper than making one…
KOWA Seiki Fork Spring Compressor II
I was actually thinking of making one
but just the materials alone were already costing close to 20,000 yen…

The fork oil was nice and clean.

The concave part at the bottom of the damper is missing?
The other one has it, so I wonder why this one doesn’t…
The dirt buildup is really different between left and right…
Let’s just move forward without overthinking it

If you’re going to do maintenance, it’s good to have an endoscope on hand.
It’s super useful.
You can check places that are completely invisible to the naked eye.
・Fuel tank condition
・Hidden fastening methods for fairing removal
・Finding bolts and nuts you accidentally dropped
・Checking hard-to-access air filter condition
It’s really incredibly helpful.
The key points for an endoscope are
“as thin as possible”
Obviously, if it’s not thin enough, there will be places you can’t access.
Something around 6mm diameter is ideal.
“Dual camera”
Straight and 90-degree
With only a straight camera, there will be parts you can’t see.
With dual cameras, you won’t have problems most of the time.
I’ll make the missing parts tomorrow and assemble the fork ♪

The best!

When you want it, grab it right away!
↑The price has become more affordable and it looks stylish.
It’s definitely one of those items you should have
