let’s check the fit by pressing the bearing by hand.
If something feels off,

lower seals often cause abnormal resistance.
The top seal also has a pretty bizarre structure…
They really don’t want water getting in…
In a way, it’s safe.
By making the seal very effective,
they may be preventing problems from occurring.
*Just my personal speculation.
Double nuts are such a wonderful thing…
Only Kawasaki and Suzuki use single nuts…
I absolutely love the double-nut style.
It’s definitely easier to adjust and more reliable. I think it has nothing but advantages~
Replaced with M22 P1.00 GS1200SS nuts.

Now assembling the front fork.
It’s good to replace the cylinder bolts too and have them slide in smoothly by hand.
I’ll pack the fork seal with fluorine grease when assembling.
Make sure it doesn’t protrude from the fork inner side.
I LOVE Makita! I properly bled the air with a vacuum pump.
To be honest, since it’s not a cartridge, the effect is pretty minimal…
But it’s the thought that counts.
