Well then, let’s continue from where we left off the other day.
We’ll clean up the brake calipers.
The piston operation is fine, no issues.
Some wear is inevitable, but if you insert the cotter pin from the top and assemble it that way, it’s less likely to fall out.
It’s easy to remove, so in a sense it’s easy to come loose. We want to be 100% certain of safety.
I lubricated the side stand and replaced the nut.
I had a scary feeling for a moment.
The thread protrusion was different.
It was engaged about 10 mm, so there was no problem.
However, basically I think it’s less likely to break if you don’t expose too much thread.
I made sure the front and rear are about the same.
The pedal has bearings, so I lubricated it from the outside and just checked the tightness.
The lubricant is formulated with Tri-Flow PTFE, which I think is really good (*´ω｀*)
The brake disc thickness is fine, no issues.
Cleaned and lubricated the fork, then brought it to atmospheric pressure.
I removed the lever and lubricated it (*´з`)
I lubricated the throttle cable.
I replaced the brake fluid.
We’re out of spark plugs in stock (；∀；) I’ll replace them tomorrow.
The air filter was clean, so we’re reusing it.
The carburettor synchronization is fine.
All the fuses are in good condition, so we’re reusing them.
Let’s make sure to clean the spots you can’t see too.
Plexus is a solid choice.
Don’t you find it hard to reach for a somewhat pricey chemical?
Here’s an interesting suggestion.
Buy one can and use it up in a year. This is actually a pretty good usage method.
It’s 3,500 yen on Amazon, but if you can clean your helmet and bike in a year for 3,500 yen, that’s pretty reasonable, isn’t it?
I suspect most people probably can’t use up a whole can. Conversely, having a can on hand might motivate you to clean more often. Just write the date on the back of the can…
