Inazuma 1200 oil-cooled Katana Sunstar neo-classic disc chain & sprocket replacement signal rotor installation Moriwaki engine slider

This is a 400-class Inazuma 1200 Katana (‘ω’)ノ

It looks a bit small, like a 400, but don’t underestimate it—this thing is fast!

Before inspection, we’re doing some minor replacements.

33120-19C20 a slightly advanced rotor.

Get it before it’s discontinued!

You could actually make these three spots adjustable with slots if you wanted.
Back in the day, I went crazy with slots on a GSF and got the top spinning around—that kind of thing.
*Be careful not to overdo it.
Fundamentally it’s about balance, so finding a setup that works perfectly everywhere is tricky.

I cleaned out the holes too (*´з`)

The cover was dirty, so I cleaned it up (*´з`)

Just clear coat looks good with the silver.

Is it dented or raised? An optical illusion?

Actually, it’s raised…

An engine slider to prevent falls (*´з`)

The GSF1200 version fits right on (*´ω`*) That’s Suzuki for you—bikes from when they were still praised.

Effective against low-sides! Effective against being knocked over!

Ugly? Not ugly? Either way, it’s smart to install it first.

And that’s the installation complete.

I hate dirty housing bolts. But of course the bolts are steel… so I replaced them with stainless (trivalent black).

Maintenance is love?

I prep the threads so they go in smoothly. The disc is off, so applying Plexus should keep it cleaner, probably?

But we always end up back to Plexus… definitely!

I hate precoated threadlocker (*´з`)

When you tighten it, isn’t it super stiff? You worry—will it come apart next time? And sometimes it locks up so hard that I just remove it all.
I prefer to apply just a little high-strength locker on the top of the bolt.

Applying it on top is rare, but if a bolt ever breaks or seizes, it’s easier to extract. As long as it’s tightened properly, these spots basically never loosen.

A big hit product! Neo-classic disc (*’▽’)

Simple, timeless design.
An item I hope they keep making forever.

One less spoke? 9 to 8 for a sleeker look?

Looking at it now, 8 spokes actually looks cooler.
I used to run the real thing, but I switched to neo-classic. Modern materials and processes make brake components you can trust.

You’d think the pins are solid, but they’re not.

The pins and even the washers are lightened with cutouts—lots of effort.
Made with the desire to save every gram.

E-clips won’t fly off under centrifugal force—thoughtful design (*´з`)

When the baseline is this high, you can use it with confidence. Brakes are important, after all.

Brake pads are RK-MAX sintered metal.

The price-to-performance ratio is excellent for street use.
There are several other pad options if you need more, so choose accordingly.

There are barely any burrs—nothing to do ( ;∀;) I washed the caliper too.

This is what it looks like installed (*’▽’)

Yeah, it really is nice—I think so sincerely. It’s just cool, you know? ♪

Degreased and ready to welcome the new pads.

After that, we’ll bed them in hard and get a solid, reliable brake.

Chain is DID ZVMX2 gold (*´з`)

From my experience, it’s the most reliable chain.

And 14-48???

Super short… hopefully. I wonder what it’ll be like…
We’ll finish up with a test ride tomorrow!
