These days,
optional insurance towing services are so comprehensive that I find myself wondering if onboard tools are even necessary.
But for minor troubles—like a mirror coming loose and spinning around—having tools on hand really does solve the problem.
I took a look at the dirty onboard tools on my Inazuma 1200.
I realized they’re really just the bare minimum—a setup you can only use when you’re truly in a bind.
All of this is pretty much useless.
I want to swap it out for something better. If you actually tried to use these, things wouldn’t come loose—they’d strip, no question about it.
The insert-type screwdrivers, for instance—they don’t even have handles anymore, and even if they did, the shaft diameter is too thin to be practical.
Straight to the trash at light speed ( *´艸｀)
I might keep this one, though.
The axle, plug, and 19 mm sockets—what’s the deal with those? You don’t see many general-purpose tools with this size in a socket configuration.
And making this size this compact is incredibly difficult.
*Though it’s only usable in emergencies.
You probably can’t loosen it without stepping on it, but that’s actually fantastic.
I’m thinking of picking something from KTC or Koken—maybe even a bicycle tool kit could work.
