Calipers without support are the coolest… (subjective opinion)
I’m guessing that the axial casting approach might be the Solomon way of doing things?
It could be a good chance to break away from the conventional path? (´ﾟДﾟ)
The Inazuma 1200 has a somewhat unusual Yamaha 100 mm pitch front caliper.
It comes with Brembo from the factory, which is nice in its own way…
but there’s that itch to swap it out?
I think it would be interesting to deliberately choose a Lockheed-looking or Spandau-looking MOS 100 pitch instead.
The center cap comes in three colors—blue, gold, and silver—and pistons exist in both iron and aluminum.
What’s interesting is that the seal part numbers differ between iron and aluminum pistons.
Since the body is probably the same, it might be better to keep the seals matched.
It looks like the rear has different pitch options.
I’m planning to eventually use a Nissin from a ZZR1400 for the rear. This caliper has a 94 mm pitch, and interestingly, MOS also makes a 94 mm version.
That’s… kind of interesting, isn’t it?
I think that going forward, large-displacement axial OEM calipers will pretty much disappear.
Learning from Suzuki’s example, I keep thinking you should buy them while you can? But I’m still torn…
