What exactly are government certification and gas reports?

I completely understand the feeling that this system is confusing and scary.
Most of the people who come to Decoboco seem unaffected by this, but…
Vehicles manufactured before March 31, 2010 are exempt from the certification system.
Models from April 1, 2010 onward are subject to it.
To put it very simply:
non-certified
models from April 1, 2010 onward cannot be replaced
and will fail inspection.
Tough times for muffler shops…
This applies to all motorcycles! Check whether the stock muffler has a catalytic converter!
Stock with catalytic converter replaced aftermarket without catalytic converter fails inspection.
By the way, newer bikes are almost all equipped with them.
This applies to all bikes subject to emissions testing, roughly from around 2000 onward, with model designations starting with BC or EBL on the inspection certificate.
*Check your inspection certificate.
Determine whether the stock catalytic converter is in the silencer or elsewhere.
This is where the need for a gas report comes into play.
Parts without a catalytic converter can be replaced with government-certified parts.
If the silencer has no catalytic converter but the collector does, you can replace just the silencer (slip-on) and bring it to inspection without a gas report.
If the silencer has a catalytic converter but the collector doesn’t, you can replace just the silencer (slip-on) but will need a gas report to bring it to inspection. *Without a gas report, you’ll be turned away at the gate.
You only need to know the manufacturing date and whether there’s a catalytic converter.
Whether the manufacturing date is March 31, 2010 or earlier or April 1, 2010 or later
